Walmart Grant
The Ridgemont Public Library recieved a $1,000 grant from Walmart on January 8, 2010 to be used for teen services at the library. Accepting the donation from Kenton Walmart store manager, Todd Walter, is Mollie Craig Gallo, Ridgeway Branch Librarian.
Fax
The library has a fax machine for public use. Persons may either receive or send faxes to the library number (937-354-4445). The cost to send a FAX is $1.50 for the first page and .50 for each additional page. Receiving a FAX costs .15 per page.
Photocopies
The library staff will make copies for individuals. The machine will both enlarge and reduce. The copier will copy from postcard size through 11x17 paper. Copies cost .15 for black and white copies, and $1.00 for color Photo copies.
Internet
Internet access is provided through the library's OPLIN connection. Everyone must sign a disclaimer card to use the internet. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or gardian come into the library to sign a permission slip.
Book Return
For the convenience of our library patrons, we have a book drop located on the side of the building at the Mount Victory location and on the front of the building in Ridgeway.
Books
At the present time the library has over 19,000 books.
Magazines
The library currently displays and circulates 54 magazine subscriptions. Magazines are also available through inter-library loan.
Audio Recordings
At the present time the library has books on tape and CD. Many more are available through inter-library loan.
Compact Discs and DVDs
The library has CD's and DVD's in house. Many more titles are available through inter-library loan.
Video Tapes
The library has a collection of video tapes for loan. These are checked out for 1 week and there is no charge unless the tape is returned late and then the charge is $.50 per day per tape.
SEO & Interlibrary Loan
Ridgemont Public library is a member of Southeast Ohio library System which is a shared catalog system. Currently there are over 60 library systems across Ohio in SEO and it's database can be accessed at the library or from home by logging on to the Ridgemont Library website (www.ridgemont.lib.oh.us). Materials may be borrowed from any library in the system
Computers
The library currently has 11 computers available for the public to use. (5 at Mount Victory and 6 at Ridgeway) There is software available for word processing, resumes, encyclopedia searching, street atlas and educational games.
Weekly Story Times
Please call the library as times change through the school year.
Toddler Story Times
10:15 on Thursdays. It is best to call the library for time changes due to weather.
Holiday Crafts/Storytimes
Usually are held from the 2nd week in October until the end of February. Call the library for a schedule or watch for articles in the Kenton Times.
